Meet Javier Santiso, our founder and CEO!
Born and raised in the vibrant heart of Paris, Javier's career journey is nothing short of unique. During his early days, he worked for Groupe Crédit Agricole, BBVA, Lazard, and Telefonica, where he built a deep knowledge of emerging markets. By 2015, Javier's career trajectory advanced as he took on the Executive Director role at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, a $50 billion Malaysian investment fund. There, he spearheaded investments in several now-iconic unicorns, including Farfetch, Skyscanner, and Wefox.
After working with so many start-ups, Javier followed his entrepreneurial spirit, which led him to founding Mundi Ventures in 2016. Since then, it has evolved, launching funds across the fintech, insurtech, deeptech, and retail sectors worldwide. A key to Mundi Ventures' success is Javier’s extensive network, aptly named Club Mundi, comprising over 750 executives from leading international firms. This global focus is also reflected by Javier′s commitment to creating a multicultural ethos within the fund′s team, which boasts over 16 nationalities.
Javier is not just a leader but a connoisseur of culture and a catalyst for innovation, merging his passions to shape a corporate vision. Art and culture are at the core of Mundi Ventures. He has written and published books in both French and Spanish, and founded La Cama Sol: Editorial, Arte y Club in 2017, a publishing house with over 50 titles in its catalog. His literary contributions also include regular columns for El Pais. Besides his love for literature, Javier is an art aficionado. He takes great pride in having transformed Mundi Ventures’ offices into an art gallery, creating an inspiring and beautiful workspace for all employees.
