Meet Jason Tang

CEO & Founder of?TablePointer

Jason?co-founded TablePointer in 2019, as part of the pioneer batch of ENGIE Factory’s Venture Build programme. The energy technology venture seeks to support the sustainability efforts of energy-intensive commercial outlets, in particular the food & beverage (F&B) sector.

F&B is one of the most energy-intensive commercial sectors, with food service outlets like restaurants using 4X more energy per sqm than commercial buildings.?The entire F&B industry is estimated to contribute 26% of the global carbon footprint. This is particularly significant in Asia, the fastest growing F&B services market at US$ 2.2 trillion in annual sales by 2026.

As a result, energy efficiency for decentralised facilities is a white space for ENGIE in Asia. To win in this space, a low cost, easy installation, scalable technical innovation is needed, combined with a business model that can deliver fast positive outcomes and encourage mass adoption. There are 1.9 million outlets just in Asia alone that we can help to be more sustainable.

TablePointer’s intelligent energy efficiency solution enables F&B outlets to monitor and control critical equipment such as HVAC, refrigeration, lighting and ventilation in order to actively save energy, whilst providing complete visibility and control across the F&B outlet’s entire portfolio. After analysing energy data, utility bills and operations, TablePointer experts will recommend the right combination of technology and behaviours to reduce energy consumption by up to 30%.
