Who or what has influenced you as a leader?
My mother who guided me as a girl guide to maturity and led by example showed me how versatile she could be as a leader. She gave me every opportunity possible to lead in the home, business etc.
What? book would you recommend to a young woman beginning her leadership journey??
Dare to Lead by Brenè Brown. This book is clear about choosing courage over comfort, so we can step up, make a difference and dare to lead. Brene reminds us about holding ourselves accountable as leaders and not looking at leadership as a status symbol or power over others. It is also important to recognise the potential in people and develop that potential.
In your opinion, what are three barriers or challenges women in leadership are still facing today?
1. Discriminatory laws and institutions 2. Education and capacity gaps 3. Contacts and resources

What is your "why"?
As an African woman I believe representation matters. I want my children and grandchildren to see that and believe in themselves, but also enhance equity within the Australian community.
Please share your WORDS OF GRATITUDE for women who have come before you.
All that I am or hope to be, I owe it to those women who have come before me. I believe in the generosity of these women who never list sight of their ideals and kept going.
Please share your WORDS OF WISDOM for those young women who will come behind you.
You are enough. Believe in yourself and do not let your failures define you.
