Meet InterNACHI’s House of Horrors – A Home With Over a Thousand Defects
PURE TERROR STRIKES YOU WHEN YOU SEE IT
You were trained for this beast. But nothing quite prepares you entirely for when you first see it. You feel your heart start to race. Look at it there, mocking you, daring you to find over one thousand defects. No, I did not exaggerate. There are over one thousand defects here to find. And to earn a certification as an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector, I needed to find them all or die trying.
LIKE A FLIGHT SIMULATOR FOR HOME INSPECTORS
InterNACHI knows that the only way to properly train and prepare a new home inspector, is for them to be 100% prepared. Inspectors need to be able to identify and find any type of material defect. Holy moly! That's what the House of Horrors really is. InterNACHI collected a ton of home inspection defects and assembled them here, all under one roof for home inspector training.

THIS HOUSE BE CRAZY
Crazy construction defects are here too. For example, plumbing and ducting work that looks good at first but as you inspect it, you see it is connected to absolutely nothing. An assortment of terrorizing roof defects, reversed plumbing, exposed wiring defects, rusted out water heaters, HVAC ducting defects and hundreds of electrical defects. They mix this all up to unleash the ultimate home owner nightmare. The InterNACHI House of Horrors home simulator has it all.

RELEASE THE BEAST
InterNACHI created this monster as evilly as a mad scientist would have. It might seem that InterNACHI has a bit of a mean streak here and layered a frightening array of one disastrous home construction mistake after another in its creation. Can I catch them all?
INSPECTING A HOUSE WITH 1,000 DEFECTS
One of the greatest things about InterNACHI is the rigorous real-life training you can only get inspecting a nightmare property such as the House of Horrors. Taking a deep breath, you approach the House of Horrors with your handy iPhone and begin to take pictures to document your findings. When you first enter the structure, an InterNACHI guide will hand you a checklist with over 1,000 defects to find. You're also given a hardhat and told to "watch out for low hanging roofing nails and be sure to duck!"

IT'S ALL DEFECTIVE - MORE DEFECTS THAN HOUSE
Obviously, no house in the real world would be this defective. However, InterNACHI still requires all its certified inspectors to be ready for anything found in the real world. Inspecting the House of Horrors simulator is the equivalent of performing over 100 home inspections in just one house. Time passes. You have been here for hours. The defects never-ending.
YOU SURVIVED THE HOUSE OF HORRORS
As darkness falls, you decide that enough is enough. You've seen and identified just about any defect a home inspector could ever run into in a lifetime of home inspections. Plus, this House of Horrors is starting to feel a little bit like the walls are closing in.
IS YOUR HOUSE HIDING ITS OWN HORRORS?
Your own home may not be a complete construction disaster like InterNACHI's House of Horrors. That's why this real-life training ground enables us to put your mind at ease.
TRAINING WITH BENEFITS
As highly trained InterNACHI home inspectors, we can observe and document any potential home defects and capture them in your home inspection report. You are now armed with the information you need to fix the little problems before they ever become a major one. This deep training benefits you during your own home inspection. Walking along with me as we inspect your home, I can inform you about what problems or issues your home may have, what may be the underlining cause, and then make informed recommendations for a qualified professional to make repairs or replacement.
PERFECT TIME FOR A HOME INSPECTION
So many defects hidden in the House of Horrors is making you think "Is my house a house of horrors, too? Now is the perfect time to make sure the home you live in, the one you are about to sell, or the one your are planning to buy, is not also a House of Horrors just waiting for that horrific tragic moment to cause you harm.
