STEM Teacher Internship (STInt) Programme
A DCU initiative providing STEM Internships for primary and secondary teachers in industry and research across Ireland.
We have our fourth STInt 2025 'Meet the Hosts' article! Today's article showcases hosts who have returned to STInt once again. We look forward to working with you and matching a fantastic pre-service or early career teacher with your company. National Transport Authority
The National Transport Authority (NTA) is a statutory non-commercial body, which operates under the aegis of the Department of Transport. Established in 2009, the NTA is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to provide high quality, accessible, sustainable transport across Ireland. One of the primary statutory functions of NTA is to develop and implement a transport strategy for the Greater Dublin Area, and the Authority is also closely involved in developing transport strategies in our regional cities. NTA funds and oversees Public Service Obligation (PSO) public transport, ensuring that vital bus and rail services are available to communities in all parts of the country under the Transport for Ireland brand. NTA is also the licensing authority for the commercial bus sector and Small Public Service Vehicles (SPSVs).

Following a comprehensive induction, NTA STInt Interns will become active and valued members of our organisation. At the NTA, we employ people from science, engineering, business, technology, communications and many other backgrounds, who work across the Directorates outlined below. Every effort will be made to provide STInt Intern opportunities in the business area most aligned with the interests of the intern.

Our work: We develop and manufacture healthcare solutions within many therapeutic areas: consumer self-care, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, thrombosis, rare diseases, type 2 inflammation (e.g. atopic dermatitis) and vaccines.

Teagasc
Teagasc – the Agriculture and Food Development Authority – is the national body providing integrated research, advisory and training services to the agriculture and food industry and rural communities. The Teagasc mission is to support science-based innovation in the agri-food sector and wider bio-economy that will underpin profitability, competitiveness and sustainability. VistaMilk
VistaMilk is an SFI research centre which represents a unique collaboration between Agri Food and information communications technology (ICT) research institutes and leading? Irish/multinational food and ICT companies. VistaMilk is funded by Science Foundation? Ireland (SFI) and the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. VistaMilk has been? operating since September 2018. There are over 110 funded staff and researchers in? VistaMilk. We have a 7 research partners who include Teagasc (who are the host institute),? The Walton Institute (WIT), Insight@UCD, Insight@DCU, Insight@NUIG, and Tyndall Institute? (UCC) and the Irish Cattle Breeding Federation (ICBF).

STEM Teacher Intern Role
Our internship programme will provide third level students, and STInt interns the opportunity of a paid 3 month placement within Vodafone workingin an area related to students college course. Vodafone offers a range of different roles for interns from data analytics to digital marketing andwe have roles available across all 7 business units that will provide interns with the experience needed on their college work placements. Interns will get to work on an exciting project within our business but also get a full view of the other areas by gaining exposure to all business units during their internship.
