Meet The Hit Team: Nathan Cotter
As VP of Supply Chain, Nathan Cotter’s responsibilities at Hit include oversight and coordination of inventory and domestic purchasing, product compliance, inbound logistics, trade compliance, and custom orders.
His mornings begin with reading about anything that has happened overseas throughout the night that might impact the supply chain, along with reviewing a slew of daily reports. Following that, he spends time engaging with factories and agents overseas before they finish their workday before moving on to domestic and customer interactions. Much of his day is spent on email and video conferences, and then later in the afternoon, he resumes conversations with overseas factories on anything urgent that has arisen during the day.
Cotter has been with Hit for 8 years, where he started as a compliance coordinator. “As I learned more about product safety and corporate social responsibility it naturally led me to learn more about the broader scope of Hit’s supply chain," he said.
His favorite part of his role is that no day is ever the same. When asked what qualities are important in his role, he remarked “Patience, closely followed by communication. From there it’s really about having an outstanding team of subject matter experts that I learn from and navigate challenges with each day.”
Outside of the office, Nathan loves golfing and traveling, especially when he can combine those interests and golf at unique or exceptional courses. “I am lucky to have a wife that doesn’t mind me dragging my clubs with us, as long as there is a spa or somewhere to hike nearby,” he said.
