Meet Grace Liu, Product Manager Digital Wallet

How would your friends describe you in three words?

Kind, ambitious, bubbly

What is on your bucket list?

To live in a tiny home at some point in the future. I’d love to experience what it’s like to limit myself to just the essentials and see how far I can minimize the things in my life!

If you could meet 3 women in the world, dead or alive, who would those be and why?

  1. Lady Ada Lovelace: She is considered by many to be the first computer programmer. Ada discovered how to calculate numerical sequences using the Analytical Engine (invented by Charles Babbage), and worked out that numbers could represent something other than quantity, effectively inventing the computer algorithm. I would love the opportunity to speak with her and learn about what aspirations she had hoped to achieve with her algorithms and see if they have come to fruition in today’s world!
  2. Deborah Liu: Deborah has held many leadership positions in the tech industry, most recently stepping into the role of CEO at Ancestry.com. She openly shares career advice and her wealth of knowledge via her substack newsletter. I admire her willingness to mentor young aspiring women in tech and use her personal experiences to give back valuable advice.
  3. Naomi Osaka: Naomi is a four time grand slam champion and first Asian player to hold the No.1 ranking in the WTA. In addition to being one of the greatest tennis players of all time, she actively uses her platforms to advocate for causes that she cares deeply about including equality, social change, and empowering female athletes.

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

Working with a dedicated and fun team towards a common mission to empower immigrants. In my role, I am focused on the pain points of our customers and interweaving that into the experiences we build in our financial products.

What does true leadership mean to you?

True leadership is the ability to bring out the best in team members and to foster an environment where everyone is growing together.

How do you define success?

Success is being fulfilled with how you are spending your time. For me, it is knowing that the work I am doing is going to make life easier and better for someone in a tangible way.
