Splat Messy Play, Harrogate offers classes, parties and Slime workshops for your child’s birthday, children’s group or playgroup. 

Babies and toddlers are given the freedom to move around at their own pace and explore the various structured activities. Classes are one hour long and the activities are inspired by a range of educational themes including seasons, holiday observations and favourite characters. 

The classes are on hold but parties are available, suitably socially distanced of course. Emma, a fully trained teacher, is also providing a range of play boxes as well as tuff trays and toys for hire and non-toxic playdough, so your children can learn and play in your own home. There are a range of boxes including a standard one, a slime box and themed boxes. The latest box has a fabulous dinosaur theme which is sure to delight your children. Plus, Emma has a range of fun and educational activities available on her Facebook page so you can help your children to learn through play even during lockdown. 

Messy Play provides children with an exciting tactile and sensory experience that inspires their curiosity, allows them to explore the world around them and enhances their learning, language and creativity.

Children learn through experimentation and discovery and messy play encourages children to explore new textures and manipulate different materials through touch.  

Splat helps children learn that it’s OK to be messy whilst building, imagining, exploring and investigating. 

Messy play helps young children develop a variety of skills including fine and gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, body control and balance. Not only does messy play enhance a child’s cognitive development and learning, but it also improves a child’s physical development as well by strengthening muscles.
