Meet the Family: Characters You Find in Every Home

Grandma never questioned anything about life. She just went along with it. When the time came for her to live out her final years alone, with no one to take care of her when she got sick, she never blamed anyone.

“I finished reading the script and cried. I thought about myself—what if I were this grandma? I’d miss my kids, but they wouldn’t be thinking about me. And still, I couldn’t show any weakness. I felt so much compassion for her that I knew I had to bring Amah Meng Joo to life.”

USHA SEAMKHUM as AMAH

M grew up with the belief that money equals success. He started taking care of Grandma for his own gain, but as they spent time together, his understanding of success gradually changed.

“This is my first film, and it holds a lot of meaning for me. Not just in terms of my career, but also in shaping my identity as a human being and a family member.”

PUTTHIPONG ASSARATANAKUL as M

As the granddaughter caring for her grandparents, Mui knows the difference between helping out with expectations and doing it purely out of love.

“Mui never thought what she was doing was wrong because it didn’t trouble anyone. Grandpa has someone to look after him, and Mui also benefits from it.”

TONTAWAN TANTIVEJAKUL as MUI

Kiang thinks none of his siblings can do what he does. Since he’s the most capable, he feels it naturally falls on him to take care of the family.

“When I read the script for How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies, I knew I’d be heartbroken if this film didn’t get made. And even more so if I wasn’t a part of it. It asks an important question: does unconditional love still exist in this world?”

SANYA KUNAKORN as KIANG

Sew, the middle daughter, is a lot like Grandma. With Grandma's strength to inspire her, she’s more than capable of taking care of herself, even after her husband is gone.

“Beyond How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies reflecting today’s society, it also hit close to home for me. In real life, my mom and I aren't very close. A lot of what I did while filming felt like filling in the gaps of things I never got to do with my own mom.”

SARINRAT THOMAS as SEW

Soei, Grandma’s youngest son, is the kind of guy you find in every family. Where there’s someone dependable, there’s usually someone not so much. But Soei's true talent lies in entertaining Grandma and knowing how to make her laugh.

“This character is one of the hardest characters I have to play. I still feel guilty for portraying Soei. Even after the film was finished, I’d still keep apologizing to Grandma Taew, who plays Amah in the film”

PONGSATORN JONGWILAS as SOEI

Anyone in #HowToMakeMillionsBeforeGrandmaDies feel a little too familiar..like someone from your family?
