1.????? Describe your role at Wyvern?
As a senior Architectural Technician for Wyvern Partnership it is my role to manage projects from inception to completion. So initially I would take a project brief and translate the clients requirements hopefully creating a scheme they love and that suits their needs, then work to make it a reality.
2.????? Can you tell us a little about your professional background?
I started my career at Hulme Upright as a Junior Architectural technician and have progressed via a number of well respected practices throughout the Staffordshire area. I have worked on projects in different sectors from health care through to leisure and theme park attractions. Whilst working I have also undertaken a number of other qualifications in interior design, customer service and obtaining a degree in Architectural Technology.
3.????? What led you to pursuing that career?
When I was younger, I was always fascinated by Architecture and the design of buildings and spaces around us. I knew from an early age what career I wanted and when the opportunity arose, I jumped at it. For me I think working as an Architect always had a prestige to it and seemed like a glamourous career to have.
4.????? How long have you been doing it for?
I have been in the Architecture industry since I was 19 years old (A long time ago).
5.????? What is your favourite part of the job?
I really enjoy the variation of my job and the chance to impact on peoples lives making a positive difference. I love the fact that my role includes so many facets to it, one day I could be out surveying, the next I’m chairing meetings, or drawing (I even make the odd brew for my team mates!) and I get to work with people from all walks of life, I enjoy hearing other people’s stories and experiences which I feel helps me to become better at my job!

6.????? What is the most challenging aspect of your job??
Staying organised, we undertake a number of projects at any one time and sometimes it’s difficult to remember what is needed and when.
7.????? What do you like to do outside of work?
I love spending time with family, making memories, travelling and seeing new places. I love going to gigs and for my sins I am a massive Stoke City fan, so most Saturdays I can be seen looking frustrated at the match. I do love a good film and enjoy going to the cinema. I try to be as active as possible and enjoy being outdoors.
8.????? If you weren’t in your current role, what would you be doing?
I would love to say rock n roll star but I don’t have the voice for it! I would like to think I would be doing something arty and creative.
9.????? Tell us an interesting fact / something we don’t know about you.
I spent 7 months living and travelling Japan where I taught English to Japanese students of all ages. I spent most of my time in Tokyo and Saitama.
10. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be & why?
I have been lucky enough to visit a lot of countries and I would love to take the family back to Japan. I really loved my time there and it would be amazing to experience that again with the family.
