Please take a moment to read about Evan’s growth and what he’s learned along the way as he progressed from working as a Restaurant Manager to a General Manager!

How long have you been with Portillo’s and what made you come work for us?

I have been with Portillo’s for 3 years on October 8th. I came to this amazing company because I wanted opportunities and growth. I was previously a General Manager at Arby’s, but it was a franchise, and my direct supervisor was the owner.

What do you love about Portillo’s?

How obsessed people are about us. It gives me this incredible sense of pride to be a part of it. I love when people ask me what I do for a living.

What was your first position here and what position did you get promoted to?

I started as a Restaurant Manager and am currently General Manager of #60 in ?Davenport, Iowa.

What do you love about your position?

The people! I love connecting and building relationships. Teaching both work and life skills and being able to see people grow and be great. My current leadership team is all people that have been with at this store since we opened it. I want to help everyone be their best self.

What advice would you give to someone at Portillo’s looking to move up?

Make a commitment to yourself to be great, every single day, and inspire those around you to do the same.

Where do see yourself growing in this company?

My heart is in Ops, but with the amazing things happening in this organization, who knows. If I am developing and helping my Portillo’s family, I’ll do anything.
