How long have you been with Ardmac??

I joined the Ardmac team in May 2022, so just shy of a year now.?

How has Ardmac supported your professional development??

I am currently in the middle of completing my Chartership with the RICS. Ardmac has been the main influence in challenging my leadership and management skills by giving me the opportunity to manage and train employees on the graduate scheme. I was also given the opportunity to become a Mental Health First Aider last year, something which I am very honored to have completed training on. ?

How has your career progressed since you began working with Ardmac??

Ardmac’s culture and values are deep rooted throughout the company. There is such a wide network of colleagues ready to help and support you. My career has progressed for the better due to the properly integrated systems and procedures that Ardmac has implemented over the years. Having a proper structure in place is the perfect driver for personal growth and has gotten rid of some old bad habits!?

What do you enjoy most about working at Ardmac??

The flexibility and healthy approach to hybrid and remote working is important to a happy work-life balance. I also enjoy the variety of the projects I am working on; it gives me the opportunity to gain a wider understanding of the sectors that Ardmac are involved in.?

Is there anyone who has inspired you during your career journey so far??

My fellow colleague Catherine Greene, who is a Senior QS. Catherine’s support and knowledge was invaluable when I first started with Ardmac. As a fellow woman in the construction industry, it is inspiring to see the number of external support programmes she is a part of for the business, especially in such a male dominated industry.?

Best piece of advice you have received??

“Have the confidence to ask questions, share your voice, and invite yourself to ‘the table.’ There is no such thing as a stupid question”.?
