1.??????? Who is Doris Danilovic?

Doris is a conglomerate - a unique blend of materials with different characteristics, solid rocks bound together by soft material. As a conglomerate, I possess the strength necessary to navigate challenging business environments, while also being sensitive, empathetic, and creative. As the Deputy Director and Head of the Membership Department, I regularly balance, using my strength to take responsibility and achieve results, but at the same time being empathetic, understanding, and creative in finding solutions. This helps me contribute to a safe and supportive environment for our members.

I am a person who believes that every individual is valuable. I am also a great animal lover, which reflects my sensitivity and care for everything around us.

2.??????? What is your motto that guides you in both professional and private life?

In this period, my motto is “Happiness is in little things.” We often focus on big things, but putting in a little extra effort every day brings a series of small successes that make a big difference in the long run and when looking at the bigger picture. These small joys are daily motivators and create a positive atmosphere that inspires and drives us forward.

3.??????? What are the most important lessons you have learned during your business journey within the Chamber?

Throughout my 12-year career at the Chamber, there have been many lessons and there still are, but one stands out - relationships are always a two-way street. Translated into “chamber language” - good cooperation requires both sides. In relationships with companies, listening and understanding are key to the development of an institution like ours. This is how we create our work and services, and on the other hand, it also creates and later maintains strong partnerships from which new ideas and joint progress are born, which is a key component of successful business.

In one word only ???!? Then let that be: Support.

5.??????? Explain what that word means to you in the context of the Chamber’s operations and your work of your department.

Support is a fundamental element of our Chamber’s culture. This means providing comprehensive support to our members, companies from Germany and Serbia, whether through information, networking platforms or other resources. In the sector I lead, support is manifested through actively listening to the needs of members, understanding their challenges and organizing various gatherings, events, dialogues with institutions or exchanging best practices.

6.??????? In which segments is there room for improvement in both the Chamber’s operations and the economic and business environment in Serbia?

Some of the segments are:

• Investing in digital tools and platforms, which we are already working on,
• Reducing red tape, a current topic everywhere,
• Promoting sustainable business practices and environmental initiatives, which would make Serbia a more attractive investment destination.

7.??????? What knowledge and skills should young leaders have to successfully position themselves and be recognized as such in this specific industry?

Young leaders should possess excellent communication skills, the ability to actively listen and express themselves clearly. It is important that they are flexible and adaptable in an extremely dynamic environment. Additionally, being informed, following economic trends and understanding international relations can help leaders better understand the context in which they operate. Along with all this, I advise them to stay true to themselves because, besides ethical qualities, authenticity is an important characteristic of a leader.
