Power Couple in Philanthropy: Meet the Turners
Power Couples in Philanthropy: Meet the Turners is the first Rielle’s Events Podcast with 2 interview guests. During this episode, Rielle Jones examines staying to your organization’s mission, connecting with your base and love with Mr. and Mrs. Khary Turner.
Khary Kimani Turner is the Executive Director of the Coleman A. Young Foundation—a nonprofit that awards college scholarships to Detroit high school students. In this role, he also acts as a mentor to their scholars.
Khary reveals how hip hop saved him and brought him out his depression in high school. He shares how he uses his experiences to mentor Coleman A. Young scholars. We also look at a major driving force behind his success—his incredible wife, Tunesia Turner.
The second portion of the podcast, Khary’s smart, down-to-earth, serial creative entrepreneurial wife, Tunesia, joins the conversation. The Turners talk about their love connection that began 20 years ago, the story behind their group the Black Bottom Collective and how they both learned how to support their ambitious partner/soulmate.
Their energy is infectious. Tunesia and Khary share great nuggets of knowledge and there’s a special appearance by their son—Max the Magnificent! You definitely do not want to miss this episode!
