Meet Ciara Curran: Marketing Intern for Loyola Marymount University and Future Innovator

Since April 2022, Ciara Curran has served as a Marketing Intern for Loyola Marymount University Dining, while also pursuing her studies in Accounting and Marketing at LMU. Ciara’s dedication to creating impactful experiences and honing her marketing expertise has significantly enhanced the university's dining program and student engagement.


Key Responsibilities and Accomplishments:

  • Content Creation & Engagement: Ciara has been instrumental in content creation and video editing for event promotions and giveaways, boosting awareness and engagement among her fellow students.
  • Collaborative Projects: Working with 索迪斯 ’s Director of Growth and Consumer Experience Marketing, Dave Trombetta , Ciara contributed to significant projects like the National Employee Appreciation Day videos (2023 & 2024), internal training promos, and engaging short cooking tutorials.
  • Student Outreach: Ciara actively engages with students through event promotion and tabling, successfully proposing ideas like the popular Pumpkin Patch, which saw high student turnout.
  • Event Promotion: By introducing new arrivals at Grid stores and promoting LMU Dine events and the Kitchen Academy, Ciara brings fresh excitement to campus dining experiences.

Leveraging her studies in accounting and marketing, Ciara skillfully handles budgeting for dining events and brand positioning, using her technical insights to elevate our approach to video editing and brand awareness. Along the way, she has honed a range of skills that are essential to her growth, from public speaking and event planning to video editing and interpersonal skills. Sodexo has played a key role in Ciara’s journey, helping her with resume building, personal and professional development, and networking opportunities.

Reflecting on her internship, Ciara shared, “I love the freedom to express my creativity and ideas and see them become tangible results. There’s something special about a company where upper management truly cares to hear your thoughts and opinions and use them to make the product better.”

Her advice? “Push yourself outside your comfort zone; you don’t know what doors it will open.”

Looking ahead, Ciara aims to leverage her soft skills in aerospace, specifically in tradeshow sales. We’re excited to see where her journey takes her and are proud to be a part of her story.
