Midlife Women are in their Own Business Era: 25 for 25 Beth Kirk
For so many reasons, midlife women are in their Own Business Era.
I’m lucky to know many women who’ve left corporate culture, and are now building and scaling their own thing. Trademarking their IP, working solo or employing and contracting others.
During December, I’m publishing an alternative advent calendar featuring midlife women who’ve decided to be the boss of their own careers.
This series of posts, 25 for 25, features midlife women on the rise. Behind the next door on my alternative advent calendar is LinkedIn legend, Beth Kirk.
Beth Kirk: LinkedIN & OUTdoorsy
Beth Kirk is most often seen with a race number pinned to her t-shirt. This fan of the great outdoors and keen Parkrunner is also the founder of Socially Oxford, a marketing consultancy.
Beth crafts LinkedIn strategy for business owners, entrepreneurs, marketing teams, career professionals and CEOs. After a corporate career mainly in FMCG sales and marketing spanning 18+ years, Beth started her own thing doing organic social media marketing, and gradually began to specialise in her favourite platform - LinkedIn.
2025 is for …
Beth’s got a new offer under wraps for 2025. It’s for people who want to press the Post button on LinkedIn with more confidence. She’s got some more LinkedIn Lives coming up in the new year too. And this multi-tasker is also studying to qualify as a Health Coach in the springtime. Now that’s work/life balance.
Inspiration & motivation comes from …
Sprinkling confidence on top of proficiency. “I love giving people the skills, knowledge, and most of all confidence to use LinkedIn as a tool for marketing, career seeking or gaining more visibility for their business and personal brand.”
Beth’s advice for her younger self
“Do what you love. It's perfectly normal to career-pivot and move business sectors now, so if you have lost the love for what you are doing, don't be afraid to move on. From a business perspective, I'd say always be proud of what you have achieved, and when things get tough, know that it's just the roller coaster ride of being a small business owner.”
