Meet Annette Kurowicki

1.????? What do you love about working for Zions Bancorporation?

During the eight years I’ve worked at Zions, I have met some of the most caring, intelligent, and truly amazing people who have a passion for our communities. As a result, I often see members of our teams volunteering at events such as the annual Paint-a-Thon or championing a fundraiser for school supplies, etc. Secondly, I thoroughly enjoy working on the Technology Product Management team. Technology is changing at lightning speeds, so there’s always something new to learn, as a result there’s never time to be bored.

2.????? What is something unique about you?

?Well, two things always come to mind - the first is the fact that I am a fraternal twin and have identical twin sons…twins skipping a generation doesn't fit for my family. In fact, we have three generations straight and one generation even has two sets of twins. The other is that while I know many bankers that have been subpoenaed to testify at legal proceedings, I am the only one I know that can say that they’ve testified at a murder trial and was able to connect the defendant to the victim, which helped to get him convicted during my time in Deposit Operations at a Michigan bank.

3.????? What project are you currently most focused on?

I’m currently leading the Integrations team for the Commercial Lending Transformation Project, which is the implementation of a new loan onboarding system. Having come from a primarily deposits background, it’s been incredibly interesting to focus on a lending project. I’m learning all kinds of new terms and processes, which has been great.?

4.????? What is your proudest professional accomplishment?

My proudest professional accomplishment was contributing to the success of all three phases/releases (Consumer Lending, Commercial/Construction Lending and Deposits) throughout my eight years on the Zions FutureCore project. I was blessed to see all five go live events and see the hard work that so many people did across the organization to make it happen…the first major US bank with a single core banking system for deposits and loans. Additionally, seeing all the benefits that this brings to our team members has been truly rewarding.

5.????? What is your proudest personal accomplishment?

My proudest personal accomplishment is being the mother of three amazing boys. They’ve all become amazing young men that make me feel older and older every year…hard to believe my baby will be 30 next year.

6.????? What motivates and inspires you?

I’m a naturally driven person, which is likely related to one of my top Clifton Strength themes, competition. When I first read that as one of my top strengths I thought, wow that sounds terrible! However, as I dug into this strength and thought about it,?I realized that it fits me to a tee. I have a true desire to be successful and to have those around me do the same, which is why as a servant leader, I strive to see my team learn and grow.
