Meet Alex Fishwick, VP of Product @ SkyFi

Alex comes to SkyFi from Pax Labs, a leading global cannabis brand, where he led product management, design, and engineering across PAX's software experiences. With a passion for user success, Alex is a get-things-done product leader with expertise in many industries including consumer software, SaaS, IoT, and machine learning. Alex also has a wealth of experience driving growth at companies like Uber, The Honest Company, The Hunt (acquired by Pinterest), and Lytro Inc. (acquired by Google).

Why SkyFi?

SkyFi is bringing unprecedented access to information and insights. The capabilities, analysis, and prices of Earth observational data have improved dramatically in the last decades, but the antiquated process of acquiring it has not kept pace. SkyFi is especially well positioned to democratize availability for the prosumer and consumer markets.

What's the most exciting thing about SkyFi?

I am most excited about the positive impact people can bring forth as a result of easy access to Earth observational data. The existing markets can experience rapid change and growth. New and unknown use cases will have the opportunity to spring to life, leading to real change across real estate, climate, finance, and many more industries.?

What is your role at SkyFi?

I’m joining as the Vice President of Product to establish a strong product culture. I’ll be leading the charge across current and future software offerings to ensure we’re solving significant problems in easy to use ways. This means working cross functionally with all of the other groups to understand our users, our partners, and our opportunities to drive meaningful impact for people and the business.?

What drives you?

I’m a builder who loves working in innovative and disruptive spaces. My passions lie in making complex problems easy to understand, listening and engaging with consumers to uncover their needs, and following the data to new insights. All of this is only possible by building cohesive, smart teams that create change.

What's your favorite satellite image?

My family hails from England, and I love this image of London. You can see the organic street patterns of an old city, the interplay between buildings and gardens, and the magisterial grounds of Buckingham Palace.?
