Meet Alan Lamb
Tell us about your new role.
My new role involves me assisting in the developing the business side of Will Rudd’s and having overall responsibility for the projects that my team currently lead. I have an incredibly diverse and experienced team who are all brilliant to work with and they have certainly made my transition to director level so much easier.
How did you?get into the world of engineering?
I’ve always been interested in design, particularly bridges, from an early age and had a bit of a knack for problem solving and technical subjects at school. Engineering ended up as a very natural fit for my overall interests and strengths
What is the best advice you've ever received?
“Don’t rely on design software – it’s only as good as the information you give it”. That and “you have one mouth and two ears, use them in that ratio”
What's your go-to office beverage?
Coffee and lots of it!
Tell us something we don't know about you.
I’m a keen musician and played in all sorts of different bands all of my life. I’ve played some really amazing venues such as the SECC and Usher Hall as well as being on TV a few times as a session guitarist.
