Iraq oil project prepares to start commissioning in May.
The West Qurna-1 oil field project in Iraq is on track to complete Train 2 by May 2024, with Train 3 commissioning a few months later, despite ExxonMobil’s exit. PetroChina has officially taken over operations, with plans to boost production to 600,000 b/d by the end of 2024.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met Veridos CEO Marc Siewert at the Munich Security Conference to discuss enhancing cooperation on secure ID and passport production. Talks focused on Veridos’ Baghdad facility and its role in Iraq’s digital transformation.

Modon signs $1.7bn data center projects.
Saudi Arabia’s Modon signed agreements to develop data centers in three industrial clusters, partnering with Gulf Data Hub, DataVolt, and Ezditek. The projects, requiring over $3 billion in investments, will expand digital infrastructure in Riyadh, Dammam, and Jeddah.
Saudi Arabia gears up to lead Gulf’s automotive sector.
Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman announced the King Salman Automotive Cluster at KAEC, advancing the kingdom’s push into EV and automotive manufacturing. Backed by Vision 2030, major projects include Ceer, Lucid Motors, Hyundai, and Pirelli, strengthening local production and supply chains.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES:
Adnoc Gas wins $7bn-$9bn LNG supply deal with IndianOil.
Adnoc Gas signed a 14-year agreement with IndianOil to supply 1.2 million t/y of LNG, valued between $7bn-$9bn. The LNG will be sourced from Abu Dhabi’s Das Island facility, which has shipped over 3,500 cargoes since 1977. This marks Adnoc Gas’ second major LNG deal with an Indian state-owned company in recent months.
Alpha Dhabi Holding reports AED63bn revenue in 2024.
Alpha Dhabi Holding (ADH) reported record 2024 revenues of AED63.4bn ($17.3bn), a 40% increase from 2023, with a net profit of AED13.5bn. The company expanded through major acquisitions, including a 73.73% stake in National Corporation for Tourism & Hotels. ADH also secured a $1.5bn rail contract via its consortium, strengthening its construction and infrastructure presence.

QFC cuts 90% off application fee to ease business set up in Qatar.
Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) has reduced licensing application fees from $5,000 to $500 to simplify business setup and attract more companies. The move aligns with QFC’s strategy to enhance Qatar’s position as a leading business hub.
