Recently, we had the privilege of interviewing the latest winners of the Medix Biochemica Value Champion Award, uncovering valuable understanding of the true significance of this achievement.?

We spoke with Alexis Slowick about her career at Medix Biochemica. Alexis shared that she began her journey with Medix Biochemica nearly three years ago, fresh out of college and eager to embark on her first professional role. Joining Medix Biochemica as a customer service representative in the Biologicals department introduced her to the fascinating world of biological specimens, which was entirely new to her at the time. Over time, she has gained extensive knowledge not only about the in-vitro diagnostic industry but also about the profound impact our work has on the broader medical field. Currently, she is proud to serve as the Project Specialist for Base Matrices, Biologicals, and Biospecimens. In this role, she manages various responsibilities including order fulfillment, customer communications, and overseeing the progress of large-scale projects to ensure they meet deadlines.?

When asked about being recognized for the We Care value, Alexis described it as a delightful and unexpected honor. She mentioned that there are moments when she questions whether she cares too much, like waking up in the middle of the night realizing she forgot to send an email or make a note about a pending resale item. However, being surrounded by colleagues who share the same dedication reinforces the belief that their collective commitment is key to delivering value to the industry. Alexis expressed deep gratitude for the recognition, crediting the incredible support of her team and colleagues.?

We also asked Alexis how Medix Biochemica's values are reflected in her everyday work and the company around her. She emphasized that these values shine through in their unwavering commitment to customers. The team consistently reprioritizes and manages multiple projects to ensure every need is met and every opportunity is seized. Their goal is not only to fulfill orders but also to foster enduring relationships with like-minded companies. Alexis highlighted that many employees exemplify these values daily, regardless of formal recognition, and it’s this dedication that sets Medix Biochemica apart and defines their success.?

Lastly, when asked if she had anything to say to her Medix Biochemica colleagues around the world, Alexis said, "Thank you! We also had the chance to interview Milla Wall, who provided insights into her background at Medix Biochemica. She shared that she began at Actim, subsidiary of Medix Biochemica, about three years ago, joining the R&D team as a Technology Manager. Since then, she has continued in the same team, focusing on the development of LF tests and the production of Actim control products. Milla described her work as versatile and interesting, noting the opportunity to collaborate with different teams both at Actim and Medix Biochemica.?

When asked about how it felt to be recognized for the We Dare value, Milla expressed that it was a great surprise and an honor. She added that being rewarded for her work is always a pleasure and motivates her to maintain her energy and enthusiasm.?

We also asked Milla how Medix Biochemica's values are reflected in her daily work and the company around her. She said that these values are evident every day in the office, with everyone doing their best and working with a smile. Colleagues are eager to help each other and customers, and problems are solved collaboratively.?

Milla concluded by thanking all her colleagues for their excellent teamwork. She emphasized how much it meant to her that they nominated her, but even more so, she is grateful for the cooperation and everything she has learned from them. Milla looks forward to continuing to work across team boundaries and hopes to collaborate with more wonderful Medix Biochemica colleagues in the future.?
