MediTrans' Provider Spotlight: Heart of Jade Transportation

Candace Richard-Jackson is the proud owner of Heart of Jade Transportation.? She's new to the NEMT industry and started her business on May 1st of 2023. The business' name, Heart of Jade, was inspired by Candace's daughter. Her middle name is Jade, and Candace said she has the biggest heart ever, "She loves talking and helping others.? So, I chose the name because of her."

Candace chose to get into the NEMT business because she wanted to be able to help others in need. She said she recently experienced a hardship in her own family, "A family member’s illness led him to not being able to drive anymore. It was hard finding help to assist him to and from appointments.?If we had the resources at the time, it could have helped our family in our time of need. After personally experiencing this situation, I was driven to find a way to help assist others who may also be in need."

Heart of Jade Transportation currently has three drivers, including Candace. She said that every trip, every encounter has been rewarding, "I enjoy the fun conversations. I get to learn about other experiences, history, interests and more. I enjoy the laughs, the wisdom and just knowing I am helping others! Every person that I’ve assisted is memorable to me!"

Heart of Jade Transportation’s mission is to help others, connect with these individuals, build relationships and trust. The company aims to provide safe and clean transportation. Candace said it's not just a business or a job, "I started this company to help contribute to my community. My goal is to make every individual feel like family while traveling with us."

"While I am new to the NEMT industry, I have not experienced any challenges. My experience has been very positive and rewarding," said Candace.

Candace's goal is to expand her company by providing more job opportunities, purchasing more vehicles, continuously educating herself and employees within the industry in orde4r to provide the best service to others.

She feels the future of Medical Transportation will grow, "More people will be informed about the services. I feel we will be able to adapt and fit in because, as mentioned earlier, we plan to continuously educate and stay update to date with new changes."

Candace has a message for members, facilities and healthcare workers, "DO EVERYTHING FROM YOUR HEART! FIND YOUR PASSION AND BE PASSIONATE ABOUT IT!"

She's excited about the future for Heart of Jade Transportation. Candace said this is only the beginning for them!
