A Mediterranean Oasis in Northern Europe

Set along the tranquil banks of the River Spree in a quiet and familiar area on the outskirts of Berlin, this project is a harmonious blend of two distinct worlds. Designed as a permanent residence for a couple, the home captures the essence of the Mediterranean while embracing the cosmopolitan energy of Berlin.

Terraza Balear was entrusted with creating a unique interior that reflects the clients’ deep connection to the island of Mallorca, seamlessly integrating it into the heart of Northern Europe.

Terraza Balear approached the project with a 360o vision, handling every aspect from materials and carpentry to lighting and furniture.

Inspired by the Mallorcan essence, the design incorporates warm, earthy tones, textured finishes, and subtle blue accents reminiscent of the island’s landscape.

The interiors were designed to maximize brightness and create an inviting atmosphere. Custom details, such as ceiling-height doors, indirect lighting, and meticulously selected finishes, reflect the precision and care infused into every corner of this home.

The private areas were tailored for relaxation and serenity. The bedroom exudes a warm, welcoming ambiance, enhanced by custom wardrobes and soft furnishings that prioritise comfort.

The home’s outdoor areas, though compact, were designed to reflect the Mediterranean ethos of harmony with nature. The design connects the interiors with the outdoors, further emphasizing the Mediterranean influence while adapting to Berlin’s distinct environment.
