The Mediterranean Element – Beskuca Palace, Prcanj

In the very center of Prcanj, below the Church of the Holy Mother of God, the eternal flow of time and energy is witnessed by the Beskuca Palace- it’s the legacy of a respected family who marked the 18th century by their great success.

This is another example of a typical baroque palace, consisting of a ground floor, two floors and a belvedere on the top, where on the ground floor you can see a large portal with two small windows with a characteristic baroque profile.

In the second half of the 19th century, the palace even represented a meeting place for distinguished guests with whom the Beskuca family had ties.

The Beskuca Palace is indeed our “Mediterranean element”: it is one of the very few that has maintained direct contact with the sea, so that its existence has indebted all those who preach about it not to separate stories when it comes to the sea and to the coast. It represents that subset of harmony- staying in two beautiful spheres at the same time- the sea and the coast.

With its pier and its paved courtyard, it shows us what the palaces that had direct access to the sea once looked like.
