The Meditation Multiplier
I am seeing signs that meditation, once you establish a consistent practice, has enormous side benefits.
By consistent, I mean every day for at least 20 minutes, and ideally twice a day.
The benefits include:
The treadmill of daily life conveys the false impression that we don't "have time" to meditate twice a day... that we lack 40 minutes to be clearer, healthier and more connected.

To this, I tell my distracted mind: if I have time to eat three meals (plus snacks!), I have time to meditate. If I hit a day in which I truly lack the time to meditate, it would make more sense to skip a meal than to skip a meditation session.
The thing about meditation is that the benefits don't manifest the first day you meditate. It takes a week or two before you get into the flow of things, and a few more weeks before you start to notice tangible differences.
Stick with it. The benefits are beyond your wildest expectations.
