ZEISS Vision to license CREAL’s technology to create a digital vision care platform
By leveraging CREAL’s light field display technology, ZEISS will bring to market devices that allow for the digital examination of eye conditions as well as virtual simulation of classic ophthalmic lenses, contact lenses, and the like.
Ultimately, the partnership should help bring century-old vision test procedures into the 21st?century, finally enabling fast, cost-effective and above all user-friendly diagnostic procedures.
Smith+Nephew rolls out new TOTAL ANKLE patient-matched guides
Smith+Nephew has teamed up with South Carolina-based additive manufacturing specialist 3D Systems to design and manufacture the TOTAL ANKLE Patient-Matched Guides.
The guides are engineered using 3D Systems Corporation Systems’ VSP surgical planning workflows and feature fluoroscopic alignment cues to achieve a precise patient fit and accuracy in planning.
Enable Injections, Inc., Sobi - Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB (publ) partner to distribute Aspaveli with enFuse
Enable Injections is known for its enFuse wearable drug delivery platform, whereas Sobi is a rare disease-focused biotechnology firm.
Under the collaboration, the enFuse Injector will be developed for the subcutaneous delivery of Aspaveli.
US FDA authorises OTC hearing aid software for Apple AirPods
The authorisation comes after the US consumer electronics company announced an upcoming software update for its AirPods Pro that can turn it into a personalised?hearing aid.
Apple's Hearing Aid Feature (HAF) is a software-only mobile medical application, intended for use with compatible versions of the AirPods Pro, to serve as an OTC hearing aid.

Masimo partners with Google, Qualcomm to develop smartwatch reference platform
The collaboration will incorporate Masimo’s advanced biosensing technologies, based on decades of expertise in developing hospital monitoring solutions.
Masimo said its new reference platform will help OEMs standardise smartwatch devices, and effectively build and bring high-performing Wear OS smartwatches to market.
Epitomee Medical gets FDA approval for ingestible weight management device
Encased in a self-administered ingestible capsule, the device supports weight management in adults with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 25 to 40kg/m2 alongside diet and exercise.
Once ingested, it absorbs water in the stomach, expanding into a three-dimensional matrix. The matrix occupies space, creating a sensation of fullness, which helps support weight loss.
