Medical device company purchases building in downtown Portsmouth, NH
Novocure, a growing global medical device company in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is closing at the end of this month on the purchase of a historic building in downtown Portsmouth.?Purchase price is $9.5 million at 64 Vaughan Mall, a three story, approximate 70,000 square foot building that will be rehabbed into first class office space.
Novocure currently employs 300 employees in New Hampshire and 1,100 worldwide.?This building will be the flag ship operation for Novocure, housing their corporate offices, R & D space, and product training and demonstration space.?Physicians and partners from around the world will be visiting.
Novocure’s product is sold directly to patients and is approved in the U.S. to treat aggressive cancer affecting the lining of the lungs.?They have ongoing clinical trials to also treat cancers of the brain, stomach, liver, pancreas, and ovaries.
They chose downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire because it’s a cool place to work and live. ?Their new employees and visitors will love the seaport vibe and creative culture.?New Hampshire also has a growing medical device sector and is business friendly.
