THE MEDIA’S ROAD TO RUIN ITS OWN CREDIBILITY IN WAR ON TRUMP

It has occurred to me that my heated criticisms of Biden and the corporate media, especially, the New York Times and Washington Post, may have left the impression that I was in thrall to Trump .

I have not been defending Trump, in fact, I have criticized him mightily for his personal foibles which contributed to his defeat in 2016, and his inflammatory role in the infamous January 6th riot . It has been wrongly portrayed by a conspiratorial media, as an insurrection, for its polarizing value. Never pass on an opportunity to inculcate hate should be our characterization of what they have ghoulishly become.

Trump is beloved by many, that cannot be gainsaid, but the disgust for Trump is widespread and is rooted in a deeply moral sense that his actions constituted an affront to dignity, his personally, and as President. Yet, his undeniable flaws have been exaggerated beyond reason by the media which have ceaselessly marketed and branded of him as a traitor and as an embodiment of evil.

It is the victim Trump I have been contending for, not as President but as an individual citizen denied any semblance of fundamental fairness, due process, or equality. These inure in us as our indivisible universal Constitutional rights of which he has been systematically deprived.

It is not Trump per se that I have been defending, it is our Constitution. It has not been his critics, editors, and opinion makers I have assailed,?but their abuse of authority and departure from journalistic integrity that has pulverized our Constitutional prerogatives while concomitantly dividing us into two nations which leave us snarling and snapping at each other, each going for the other's jugulars.

What is needed is an expert witness to opine on the subject so that a calm factual analysis can be made, and the enormity of transgressions comprehended. Permit me to introduce you to Jeff Gerth, a former investigative journalist for the New York Times. He has exhaustively dissected in 26,000 words, printed in the Columbian Journalism Review, the importance of the details of how the media veered off track in its war against Trump. He demonstrates exactly how Big Media, especially the New York Times and Washington Post made critical errors in their coverage of Russian Collusion stories. His is a definitive account of the disgraceful media performance that started during the 2016 campaign and continues to this moment.

The stories were sensationalized, repeated ad nauseum, and designed not merely to trample Trump but to draw and quarter and disembowel him in the public square. (not just related to Russian collusion but on every subject, in and out of the Oval Office, always and endlessly) He was anathema to them, so they traduced him without compunction. For them, he was the equivalent of an elephant fallen helpless into their trap, where they slung false aspersions at him like boulders, intent upon crushing his skull, and bludgeoned him with clubs and poisoned pens, to knock him sense-less from his bully pulpit.

They have no remorse, nor have they corrected their calumnies in a timely fashion, or meaningfully apologized to the American people for shredding our Constitution. Their abuse continued without remit through the 2020 election and the damage done has been cumulative. Trump has earned many justifiable criticisms. (many of which I endorse) I take no issue with those, but my ire is roused when I see him falsely humiliated and disgraced with malice aforethought.

The press plays a crucial role in shining light on corruption, abuse of power and other forms of wrongdoing. When it goes awry and festers with abuse of power and is itself is riddled with corruption upon which it does not shine a light, then our American Enterprise is befouled beyond recognition. It raises the question of who is watching the watchdog. When the media goes renegade as it has done with Trump it trashes our concept of democracy. We cannot long endure without a fair and fee press.

Whatever our political affiliation we are morally obliged to stand against falsehoods uttered against any person, even the President of the United States. It is especially important to defend the rights of those we despise. Trump is loathed by 50% of his fellow citizens. They have a right to loathe him for their reasons, and no reasons. But they have the concurrent obligation to confront a rampaging raging media which acts in concert as Hit-Men with an agenda to eliminate him.

It will be difficult for those who despise Trump to defend him. But it is the rights of each of us that repose in Trump that we are defending. More than Trump we are defending our Constitution. We must do all we can to protect our Constitution so that it can continue to protect us all.

Now they proceed apace, as if completing a prearranged circle of deceit. Since they savaged Trump with impunity for a decade, they assume that the power to censor is within their purview. it is not news they are disseminating or news that they are suppressing, it is the propaganda that fits their agenda that they are foisting on "we the people."?

Now they conspire to smother of the conduct of the Biden family and "the Big Guy " as revealed in Hunter's laptop. Take a moment to read the analysis of the expert whose 26,000- word opus, is highlighted in the attached column. I have no doubt you will weep for our country when you absorb the magnitude of the perversion of integrity perpetrated by the fourth estate. Our operative response is fight, not flight. I encourage you to further inform yourselves by fully encountering the truth and to react in whatever capacity is within your control, and in a manner congruent with the spirit of proud Americans.
