Media Release: FUNDING WINS FOR LOCAL SPORTS AND COMMUNITY GROUPS

Local sports and community groups have received a welcome funding boost through the latest round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF) grants.

Ms Simpson confirmed over $309,000 in grants will be paid to seven local groups in the Maroochydore Electorate, including:

• Equity Works Association Inc will receive $27,645 to upgrade their facility;
• Laurel Place will receive $100,000 to upgrade their facility;
• Maroochy Branch Little Athletics Centre Inc will receive $21,203 to install lighting and purchase a utility vehicle;
• Memorial Park Community Kindergarten Association Inc will receive $24,700 to paint the exterior of their building;
• SunnyKids Ltd will receive $89,728 to install a solar system and purchase a vehicle;
• Sunshine Coast Family Contact Centre Association Inc will receive $40,607 to install a solar system and purchase a vehicle;
• Teckel Tails Ltd will receive $5,842 to purchase marketing and promotional material;

The GCBF provides Queensland non-for-profit community organisations the opportunity to enhance their capacity to provide services, leisure activities and economic opportunities for their local communities.

The Gambling Community Benefit Fund Round 122 is now open and closes on 30 November 2024.
