Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to lead the creation of comprehensive assembly and fabrication drawing packages, alongside a meticulous mechanical bill of materials. This position offers the chance to play a pivotal role in the design and production process of key projects, contributing directly to the success of our client's innovative solutions.
- Develop and finalize assembly and fabrication drawings in alignment with the highest industry standards, integrating specific electrical design requirements for production deployment.
- Ensure the seamless transition of approved drawings to the production team, facilitating the manufacture of quality products.
- Generate detailed designs for various components, including assembly, sheet metal, and bus fabrication, to meet project needs.
- Provide crucial support to the production team during the assembly and fabrication stages, ensuring the project's specifications are met.
- Create and manage a comprehensive mechanical bill of materials, accurately recording information in the manufacturing database for efficiency and reliability.
- Guarantee compatibility with field measurements and existing equipment, ensuring project requirements are meticulously met.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to safety standards and protocols.
- Fulfill additional tasks as required by management, aiming to meet and exceed company goals and foster team cohesion.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience of at least 5 years in switchgear mechanical design. Candidates without formal education must demonstrate a suitable combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience: Solid experience in MV and LV switchgear design, non-segregated bus duct systems, electrical enclosures, and power distribution centers. Proficiency in managing complete project cycles, from start to finish, and experience with field measurements is crucial.
- Specialized Knowledge: Expertise in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, with a strong understanding of industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, UL, ASTM, IBC, CA Title 24, NEMA, MIL-STD, NEC, EUSERC, etc.).
- Skills: Exceptional skills in 2D and 3D AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office suite. Candidates should possess excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork capabilities, along with a commitment to product quality and cost control.
- Abilities: Ambitious, proactive individuals with the capacity to independently manage multiple projects, demonstrating a willingness to engage with various product lines and contribute to a team's success.
- Professional Certifications: Certifications in AutoCAD and SolidWorks are desirable, though equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
