Today, the MEC for Human Settlements and Department of Infrastructure Development (DID) , Lebogang Maile, inspected Refitlhile-Pele Primary School in Soshanguve. This project implemented by the Department of Infrastructure Development (DID) involves upgrading, new works, demolition and refurbishment. The project is currently at 75% completion. MEC Maile was briefed on project progress and urged the Contractor to work tirelessly to meet the completion deadline.
New construction include a multi-purpose school hall, ?science lab, computer room, library centre and multi-purpose room. This facility will include an administration block, 15 classrooms,? Grade R block, guard house and refuse yard. External works include bulk earthworks, assembly area, paving and parking areas, inter-linked covered walkways, storm-water management including a storm-water pond, upgrading existing services, water supply, sewer and drainage, combi court, mini sports field, external roads upgrades including drop-offs, upgrading the existing perimeter fence, landscaping as well as the mechanical and electrical installations.
Earlier this morning, Members of Gauteng Legislature in conjunction with the Department of Infrastructure Development represented by our Chief Financial Official, Norah Lion visited eMakhosini Secondary School in Soshanguve, as part of the Gauteng Provincial Government’s (GPG) Back 2 School programme in alignment with the Gauteng Provincial Governments ethos to deliver quality education in a modern and conducive learning environment. This delegation distributed 75 school uniforms and dignitary packs to Learners.
