How healthy is your company?
In animal husbandry, the kind of feed you give your animals will very much determine their health as well as their productivity. If you notice your chickens are not giving you healthy eggs and chicks, you can trace it back to their health. Their health is impacted by the feeds and living environment. It’s the same with business.
The combined health of your employees determines the health of your company. This means that the kind of value you deliver to your employees impacts the health and strength of your business. 1. Measuring Satisfaction
Employee satisfaction is how well a company meets the promise and expectations of its employees. It’s a sign that employees trust their company’s leaders. You measure employee satisfaction by employees’ sense of safety and trust.
2. Measuring Happiness
Employee happiness is how well a company is able to satisfy its employees' sense of belonging. When people are able to build meaningful and lasting relationships work, they will feel happy. This meets their social needs. Can working remotely help bring happiness to employees since their social needs may not be met? Humans are social animals and we need work to meet our sense of belonging to feel happy. Meaningful relationships can only be built when people interact and socialize. This supports a hybrid work environment. PwC found out that people with a best friend at work are seven times as likely as others to be fully engaged in their work. You can measure employee happiness by whether they feel cared for and supported by the people they work with.
3. Employee Transformation
Employee transformation is how a company invests in giving its people a sense of value through growth and development. The growth of the employees is the only guarantee that the future of the company will get bigger and better. It builds the self-worth of people when value is added to them. Companies cannot add value to their people without first seeing value in them. When people are transformed, they become more valuable. This meets their needs of feeling important and valued. You measure employee transformation by measuring how good employees feel about themselves and how valuable they become at work. If their performance plateaus, it means they are not being transformed.
4. Employee Fulfillment
Employee fulfillment is how employees find meaning at work. Work should supply employees with a sense of meaning. They need to know that what they are doing matters, is an expression of their purpose and they are making a difference. It meets their spiritual needs. You measure employee fulfillment and the impact they feel they are making through their work.
