Measuring equitable access to health services

Performance indicators are an important tool to assess how well health services are provided. A study by Srinivasa Vittal Katikireddi and colleagues recently published in The Lancet Public Health shows that with the use of appropriate data and analysis it is possible to better understand existing inequalities and identify shortcomings in the performance of a health system.
