Measuring Equipment in Wiha tool quality
Do you already know our TOP 3 measuring devices?
Whether in switch cabinets, sockets or PV systems: The 0,5 - 1,000 V AC two-pole voltage tester offers an impressive range of applications. You are also ideally equipped for various measuring tasks with the digital multimeter up to 1,000 V AC or the versatile clamp meter. You will find our TOP 3 measuring devices and an infographic on the subject of measurement categories in this newsletter.
The measurement categories at a glance
CAT I: Protected electronic devices (battery operation)
Application: You perform measurements on circuits that are not directly connected to the grid.
Examples: Battery powered devices
CAT II: Single-phase loads connected to the outlet
Application: You perform measurements on circuits that are electrically connected directly to the low-voltage network, i.e. via a plug.
Examples: Household appliances, portable electrical appliances, Outlets > 10 meters away from CAT III source, Outlets > 20 meters away from CAT IV
CAT III: Three-phase distribution incl. single-phase commercial lighting
Application: You perform measurements within the building installation.
Example: Lighting system, Distribution boards, Busbars, Lighting systems in large buildings, High-voltage outlet
CAT IV: Three-phase at the electricity connection
Application: You perform measurements directly at the source of the low-voltage installation, i.e. the low-voltage connection is made directly with the electric utility. This includes laying utility cables/lines from the connection point to the building.
Example: Electricity meters, main connection, Low-voltage overhead lines to buildings, House junction boxes
Digital multimeter up to 1,000 V AC, CAT IV
Are you looking for a multimeter that covers the relevant measured variables from the everyday life of an electrician? With our digital multimeter, you are optimally equipped for a wide range of measurements. This one tool can be used to carry out voltage-, current-, resistance-,frequency-, capacitance-, and temperature measurements. Continuity tests and diode tests are also possible.
Clamp meter up to 1,000 V AC, CAT IV
When working on electrical systems that cannot be switched off, for example, current measurements present a major challenge. With our clamp meter, measurements can be carried out using the clamp fork without interrupting the circuit.
Voltage and continuity tester
Our voltage and continuity tester enables voltage testing for an extensive measuring range from 0,5 V to 1,000 V AC or 1,500 V DC. The voltage tester also offers the option of continuity testing, optical rotary field testing, single-pole testing and automatic polarity detection.
Still not enough measuring devices or haven't found the right one? No problem, we have even more.
