Measures to reduce steel material consumption and cost in steelmaking plants


Early steel material planning:

1. Plan the batching target first according to the monthly production plan: combine inventory resources, adjust the batching structure, batch ingredients separately for those with electricity and those without electricity, and then advance the target. The comprehensive steel material target is 1061kg/t.

2. Process implementation control: The smelting operation area strictly implements the current batching plan, reports daily, and makes adjustments based on existing problems in the process.

3. Review and comparison: The steel materials will be restored at the end of each month, and the actual situation will be compared with the forecast. Problems and losses will be identified through review, and optimization will be implemented at the beginning of the next month.

Improvement of fixed-length compliance rate:

1. By scientifically improving the shrinkage size of the thermal ruler, the compliance rate of ±20mm for the fixed length has been further improved.

2. Improve the accuracy of equipment management, reduce the failure rate of cutting equipment, and ensure that the compliance rate of cutting to fixed length is improved.

Continuous casting cutting kerf optimization:

1.2# continuous casting carried out the transformation of the roller table, the marking prefix was transformed into a cutting gun, and the PLC program was modified to meet the online cutting function.

2.1# continuous casting will abandon the oxygen blowing pipe and use a hand-held cutting gun for cutting; improve cutting efficiency and cut surface quality, and greatly reduce the width of the slit.

Optimization of head and tail billet length:

1. Optimize the continuous casting head and tail billets according to the steel type and execution standards.

2. Improve the continuous pouring rate through reasonable production planning.

Reduce process scrap:

1. Strictly control the amount of deoxidized aluminum, carry out work to eliminate overoxidation from the electric furnace, and increase the aluminum recovery rate.

2. During the LF period, control the deoxidation time and diffusion deoxidation effect to maintain a good reducing atmosphere.

3. For steel types with high aluminum content, sulfur control, and nitrogen control that are prone to nozzle flocculation, the intervals between Al, N, and S must be strictly controlled, and replenishing aluminum after VD is prohibited.

4. The soft blowing link is very important to prevent secondary oxidation caused by naked leakage of molten steel, and video feedback is used to monitor the soft blowing effect.

Increase slag iron digestion:

1. Provide guidance from the operational control level to prevent the loss of steel materials.

2. Increase the frequency of magnetic separation and assign a dedicated person to select iron for return to the furnace.

3. Set the entrance to the furnace well to reduce the amount of slag brought in.
