Measure what matters most
Andrew Olsen
Leadership effectiveness drives fundraising growth. I'll help you improve both.
January is planning time for many organizations. That means many of us are spending time establishing, reviewing, or refreshing the Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) that we'll measure the year on.?
Last year our team surveyed hundreds of nonprofit leaders across dozens of organizations. We talked to CEO's, Chief Financial Officers, Chief Development Officers, Development Directors, Fundraisers (of all types), and even some program and operations folks inside nonprofits.?
One of the most interesting things we learned in our study, A Better Way: A National Study of Nonprofit Leadership & Fundraising in a Rapidly Changing World, is that a majority of nonprofit organizations are measuring the wrong things.?
In this short video I talk about why measuring the right KPI's is essential to success, and how you can think differently about measuring your organization's success in the coming? year.? I hope you find this helpful in your work today.? Here's to your continued success!
