Measure of Success
Cars and Car Culture comes in all shapes and sizes, as do the people who affect them

Measure of Success

It is a question we invariably ask: What does success look like? Well, it looks like this

A few months ago I joined Jason Stein’s Flat-6 Media as executive producer for his radio show on SiriusXM, “Cars & Culture.” At the time, it was a fledgling-ish operation; he had undertaken to interview people who affect our car world and he was doing a great job of it, too.?

Jason's a bright guy. In filling out the Flat-6 Media roster, he recognized a need for an impeccable organization and was fortunate to get Kristen Pantalena as his right hand. KP not only keeps Jason in line, she orchestrates all that works right with F6M. Next, Jason knew it was imperative to grab a social media wizard and he found one in Kegun Morkin who stokes and fans the digital fires. My role was to think of who, what, why and how we get more automotive culture influencers.

Ladies and gents, the recipe seems to work. We've had exceptional guests who’ve shared insights and news; from Nissan CMO Allyson Witherspoon, Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford, Stellantis design chief Ralph Gilles, Lexus marketing jefe Vinay Shahani, Corvette tuner and YouTube influencer Emelia Hartford, NASCAR President Steve Phelps… as you?see, ne plus ultra guests who tell us what we think. Rest assured, we have more A-list guests coming your way - heck, they are stacked like planes over LaGuardia - in the weeks and months ahead.

Thanks in no small part to Kegun’s efforts people have taken notice: As I type this we surpassed 3500 YouTube subscribers. Might not seem much, but a few weeks back we were at 100. Oh, and on YouTube we just passed [raise pinky finger to the corner of your mouth and say] ‘One MILLION views’ of a clip with guest Jay Leno. As you see, we continue to move the needle in the right direction.

I’d be remiss to not thank Ally for its financial support of the program. Ally started this journey with “Cars & Culture,” and it enjoys this acknowledgement that what we are doing — delivering exceptional content to a passionate audience — is the right and proper thing to do.

It’s just the beginning as we are 30+ episodes into this grand experiment. We will continue to bring engaging, exciting, entertaining and sometimes enthralling guests to your listening ears. Thanks to those who have joined along in this journey and appreciate our efforts to date. All I can say is hold on, ‘cause the ride is just getting started.
