If you want to grow your business faster you need to measure the most critical things at least weekly.
Here are the top ones that apply to most business.
1. Leads/traffic generated.
2. Leads/traffic converted into paying clients.
3. Follow ups made with unconverted leads.
4. Add on/up-sells offered.
5. Repurchase offers made to past clients.
If all you did was measure these areas of your business each week and make sure your staff do as well, a wonderful thing happens. They will improve!
Why? Simply because you are focusing on them.
Now if you develop and implement specific strategies to improve each area then you'll get even more improvement.
This sounds simple and it is if you implement it. Most people don't and if you took the time to calculate the sales they lose as a result you would be horrified.
Just today I looked at a business and their follow up with hot leads was one templated email. That's it. My head nearly exploded on hearing this because if instead they phoned and sent a text message to each lead they would at least double their results. Hence double their new clients coming in.
So what did I recommend? You guessed it measure follow ups for every lead and make sure you call and/or text each lead within 24 hours at the most.
Now will they do it? In this case yes because if they don't I am going to hound them until they do.
