Means v Ends
What if you excelled in academics, but are a failure in your career.
What if you are knowledgeable, but have poor values.
What if you know what it takes, but don't apply it in your life.
People should be aware that learning, understanding, and education is the edifice of growth and development.
But it is only a means.
People get educated, but it is their behaviour that reflects it.
People become knowledgeable, but it is their values that manifest it.
People learn skills, but their performance is what matters.
The key difference is that knowledge, education, skill development is a means, not an end.
It takes more than just knowledge or skill to deliver. You have to make it count.
Education or skills are essential, but do not guarantee success automatically.
It takes something beyond it.
And that's what successful people do when the others have put their legs up.
A doctor examined the patient and with a grave look informed him that his demise was near.
Did he have any last wish?
"Yes" said the patient, "I want to see another doctor".
People are not concerned about your knowledge, but how you deal with them.
They are not bothered about your education, if you have dubious values.
They don't care about your skills, if you don't deliver.
Care about the means, but with the end in mind.
Absolutely true?
