There are so many myths and misconceptions about ugly handwriting that it’s time to dispel them and put them in the right perspective.
Ugly handwriting is simply a mild embarrassment to most people. They don’t have any hang-ups about it so they shove it aside while mentally adding a memo to deal with it at some time in the future.
But for others who are more self-critical ugly handwriting is a persistent thorn in the side that they find difficult to ignore.
They think of ugly handwriting as an indicator of low intelligence – or even as a deficiency of some sort and they are concerned that their handwriting will show them up as inept or inferior. But unfortunately every time they put pen to paper they are reminded of their imperfections.
And then there are those who are under the somewhat hopeful but misguided impression that writers with ugly handwriting are genius material.
The fact is that ugly handwriting by definition is neither good nor bad. But it does represent the writer as he sees himself - and this is the crux of the matter.
So with that in mind the questions we need to ask are; how does ugly handwriting affect you as an individual and what impact does it make on your life on a day-to-day basis?

7 年Very good article on this common misconception about ugly handwriting. I wish to add that when the handwriting is appearing ugly but it is fast and legible, then it is a suggestive of intelligent, fast and efficient person. Handwriting is basically for communication, so the efficient way is to write speedily and legibly.
