Shubh means goodness and Labh means benefit. Lord Ganesha is the God of good beginnings. Riddhi & Siddhi, his two wives, are represented by the two lines on either side. Shubh and Labh (the two words written in Devanagari script above the Swastika) are sons of Lord Ganesha. Shri Ganesh is well known as symbol of good luck and good beginning. He is well known as the remover of obstacles and troubles. It is believed that writing the words 'Shubh Labh' with turmeric or vermilion, Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi are pleased. Obviously, when they are happy, you stand better chances of having good luck and benefits.

The Universal parents, Shiva and Parvati, thought of marriage for their two sons, Ganesha and Kartikeya (Subramanya), as they had attained youth-the right time for marriage. When their parents revealed the decision for them to marry, the two boys began quarreling. One said, "marry me first!" "No," the other rejoined, "marry me first!" To pacify them, Shiva and Parvati devised a plan, and told them , "O good sons, we love both of you equally. To settle your quarrel, we have made a decision. Between the two of you, whoever returns here first after going around the entire Mother Earth shall be married first !".

On hearing these words, Lord Subramanya immediately set off on His peacock with great speed to go around the earth quickly and return earlier than Ganesha. To their wonderment, Lord Ganesha just stood near Lord Shiva and Shakti Parvati without making any preparations to leave. Instead, He requested that his divine parents occupy the two seats. He prayed to them to accept his worship. Shiva and Shakti readily agreed to this and sat on those seats. Lord Ganesha worshiped both of them with great devotion, circumambulated seven times and made obeisance to them seven times. As He completed His seventh salutation, Lord Subrahmanya arrived, completing His journey around the entire earth.

Now Subrahmanya demanded that His marriage be celebrated first because He had gone around the earth and returned to them first, as per their command. Lord Ganesha never went around the earth at all. At this point, Lord Ganesha said, "O Divine Mother, O Universal Father, the Vedas declare that whoever goes around or circumnavigates his parents obtains the fruit of bhu-pradakshina or tones circling around the entire earth. When this blessing is applicable even by going around earthly parents, how much more it should be when the circumnavigation is done to you, O Divine Parents. By going around you seven times, I have gone around not only the earth, but the whole universe! Therefore, celebrate my marriage without any delay.

" Prajapati Vishwaroopa's two beautiful daughters, one called Riddhi and the other called Siddhi, were selected to marry Lord Ganesha. Lord Shiva and Parvati celebrated the marriage of Ganesha to Riddhi and Siddhi, who bore Him two beautiful sons named Labha and Kshema respectively. As Hinduism is always about representing about something. Instead of taking it as a story you can take this thing in this was (Ganesha married siddhi and buddhi which means if you pray to him you get siddhi(benefits) and Buddhi (intelligent) and his sons Shubh and Labh represents Shubh (gain) Labh (happiness)).

Shubha, the auspicious, is the present work culture-effect that generates, worker social benefit. The effect of our present work culture generates benefits for both us as the producer as well as the society as the consumer. Therefore, it is auspicious. Labha, profit, is the present culture-effect that generates social benefit. The effect of our present culture generates benefits for the society as the consumer of the profit we accrue when we become accultured to something. Everyone becomes curious as to why we are accultured to that thing and begins their acculturation process by copying our behaviors. Thus, social cost (Shreya) is the twin dimension of labh and the worker social cost (Indu) of Shubh.

In discussing the Shiva Purana version, Courtright comments that while Ganesha is sometimes depicted as sitting between these two feminine deities, "these women are more like feminine emanations of his androgynous nature, Shaktis rather than spouses having their own characters and spouses."Lord Ganesh has two sons Shubh Labh. His 5 wives, i.e. Riddhi, Siddhi, Tushti, Pushti and Shri. 2 grandsons, i.e, Aamod and Pramod
