Meaning of Our Life – The Purpose of Our Existence!
When you were young, you may have enjoyed finding the missing pieces of a puzzle. It was challenging and you felt proud once you completed the whole puzzle.
Once you became adult your mission in life could be seen as a puzzle too but here the missing pieces are not just given to you. You have to work for it to collect all the missing parts and make the puzzle complete. That is your responsibility.
But how do you master this process?
Know your strengths: we have all our strengths and weaknesses. When you do not have a clue where to start, try to remember what your talents were when you were a young child. Did you love writing? Did you love to use your imagination? Were you good at sports? Did you like to learn? Did you love mathematics?
Know your values: what is important to you? What gives meaning to your life? Do you like to support others? Do you want to excel in your career? Do you prefer a fulfilling job content over money?
Know your passion: this one is rather easy. What makes you smile? What makes you enthusiastic? What makes your heart beat faster? If you have forgotten how it feels to be very happy about something, try to remember how you felt when you received full attention at your own birthday party and you were opening all nice gifts offered to you.
Decide what you want: life is about making choices. It is important that you consciously make a choice, otherwise you will run in circles and precious time will be lost. When you are walking and you are in front of a crossroads, it is evident that you can not walk on two roads at the same time. Have the courage to make a choice and stick to that choice. You will get faster at the finish line.
Disciplined focus: have you ever seen a runner of a marathon winning the game when he was looking behind him all the time? This would cost him too much energy, he would not progress steadily.
Be open: it is important to keep your communication lines open with your environment. People that care for you and know you well are excellent guides. They will give you honest feedback about you. Take this opportunity to exchange thoughts. Connect with others and learn from their experiences.
Work on your skills: what skills are needed to perform well in your chosen field? Continue to develop and master these skills.
“Our whole life is solving puzzles†(Erno Rubik)
Once the puzzles are completed, ask yourself: did you have a meaningful life, did you create a lasting impression? Were you an inspiring source of reference to the new generation?
