Mea Culpa

For, but not limited to my sisters and brothers Haitians. Ego says, "Once everything falls into place, I'll feel peace." Soul says, "Find your peace, and then everything will fall into place."
I was in Haiti last month and was observing the people, rich and poor, pigs, goats, dogs functioning surrounded by detritus, mud, potholes, insane traffic, absence of traffic lights, rare electricity, no running water, bad cellular communications, poor quality but very expensive internet services, aggressive corrupted administration,...
Everything seems to be "A l'oral" theoretically in existence but nothing, nowhere can testify of the presence of a government, a legislative, a justice, a administrative, a security system. For every solution the country, the people seems to have a problem. Everywhere we look around we haven't been able to see a way, a path that could be followed to escape this infrahuman, abject living conditions the population is sinking deeper and deeper into one day after another.
Some say we became prematurely independent. We were not ready. We could make it but we had no plan. There was a conspiracy internationally concocted against our nation. We are being kept in that condition to be used as a disuassive example for the oppressed countries. Black people cannot govern themselves. We gained this independence because of a pact we signed to dedicate the country to the devil. Our religion is demoniac. We don't love our sisters and brothers. We don't love ourselves. We don't trust each other. We are too divided...
Because of all this we see our people trying desperately to survive individually in a "Sauve qui peut" mindset - Same on the land as in the diaspora. We only support international NGO's and the local and national nonprofits can only rely on foreigners for their existence. Naturally through efficient, appropriate education, trades and higher studies our ingenuity can awaken to magnify our common sense, our potentials, our competences, our capability to create our future and manifest our beauty.
We have tried many things and we have lamentably failed. Let's not abandon! Let's not give up! We can still understand and agree to be sisters and brothers. We still have the power to decide to Love each other as such. We still have the potential to unite and join forces to save and educate our children, protect our land, rebuild our forests, revamp our local food production system, raise our patriotism, favorize consumption of produce from our farmers, prioritize our community interest over the self.
Even though the difficulties we see in front of us, the most difficult is for us to decide to forgive in spite of all. The rest will become very easy. Love is a very transformative power. Our power is in our ability to come together as one unique force!
