Me Time With The Porsche Macan

We all know a surprise get together with your loved ones, an amazing night out with friends that wasn’t planned and a sunny day which wasn’t forecasted creates unexpected happy memories.

But, a little head space to think or taking time to do something nice just for ourselves creates a new level of joy – we all need me time!

A bright sunny day welcomed me to the New Porsche Macan. The surprisingly beautiful luxury garden centre, Lavershot Barns, served a majestic relaxed atmosphere in Windlesham, Surrey. A ‘not found on the high street’ arrangement of yummy farm shop delights, individually selected from afar or locally sourced were all oozing quality. A perfect Porsche Macan setting.

The full line up of Macan, Macan S and Macan GTS each exhibited their own gorgeousness, tech connectivity and go sports guarantee. Looking closer you just have to touch it especially the textured side door blades, which are also available as body-coloured, but the contrast really pulled me closer.

Popping the funny looking key into it’s slot, I already knew keyless start was optional on this entry model but standard on the Macan S and Macan GTS meaning they also get some delicate little dimples on the door handles, which you tap to enter. How cute is that?

A few slides of the electric seats, I was off for some me time of my own.

The Porsche spirit was loud and clear in a rebellious, no one is watching moment getting my foot down. I purposely head for road bumps testing the air suspension but the gliding drive remained, the outside world was on mute.??

Getting to know the car sailing over a few roundabouts, commanding my authority on the dual carriageway then winding back through country roads I eventually hit a busy high street with the day beginning to fade. In this new territory the Macan became my agile dragonfly zipping between the parked cars and unloading vans, planting exactly where I wanted it to be.

Slowly illuminating inside, a new evening look was revealed. Switching my view easily on the high res screen from sat nav to list radio stations available, the BOSE sound system certainly did a few songs justice *volume up*.

The rear view camera was actually realistic and whizzing the steering wheel round to park it didn’t feel too chunky in my hands at all. Once parked (touching again) the soft-finish surroundings, even the roof lining felt like those irresistibly silky smooth fleece throw blankets. The stylish touch buttons on an uncomplicated glossy centre console fed back an elegant click response saying, yes you pressed me. Odd flashes of metal including the chequered temperature switches gave a knowing reminder that this car is a machine and no plastic toy.

Porsche’s online configurator for the new Macan turns the dial up even more - to pure self-indulgent me time. There’s superstar customisation like Porsche 911 steering wheels, 17 alloy wheel designs plus more than 12 body colour choices and endless leather seat and stitching combinations. The Porsche experience to uniquely craft a design of the owners bespoke choosing is actually a gift in itself.
