Introducing Tabi!?

?Hey Tabi! Firstly, can you tell us a bit about your role at Rapha?

?I work at the Rapha Amsterdam Clubhouse as a Clubhouse Assistant, Keyholder and Service Champion. My role involves being on the ground to interact with customers and RCC members. I’m also responsible for making sure we’re giving the best Rapha service possible, supporting our team members with product training and service guidance. I meet different people from all walks of life and talk about Rapha, our products and cycling all day… safe to say my job is pretty great! I’m also a ride leader with the RCC and I’m the creator of the Rapha 101+. The 101+ is a set of rides and workshops that aim to give those less represented in cycling an open platform to learn in a supportive environment where no questions are the wrong questions.

?So, what about your bike?

?I’m very lucky to own a few bikes, but I’ve chosen my cyclocross bike - Focus Mares AL. I love this bike because of its versatility and all the amazing memories I have riding it. It's been with me all over Europe - everywhere from chunky MTB trails in Scotland to climbing up Mont Ventoux. I’ve pushed it to the limit and it has always looked after me. I’ve made updates to the group-set since I got it, but it’s still nippy and has helped me find joy in different types of riding!

?And how did you get into cycling?

I cycled a lot growing up in Scotland, but I rediscovered cycling as an adult by accident. When I was 22, I had a motorbike crash which gave me a bad hip injury and it was recommended that I try cycling for recovery. I bought my first fixie bike from a friend for ￡50 and was instantly addicted.

?What is one of your favourite cycling memories?

?I have two favourites. The first was when I was really little being on the back of my Grandad’s bike cycling around Glasgow. I still remember the freedom, excitement and love of nature that it brought. More recently, I went on my own to ride in Mallorca and loved the long climbs and descents in the heat. It was a challenge but it gave me so much clarity and joy.

And finally, let us know your favourite Rapha product and why?

?It’s a toss up between the Pro Team Detachable Bib Shorts (in green!) and my Explore Down Jacket. I use both of them so much, just in different seasons!? I love the Pro Team Bibs as the chamois is second to none, and the detachable aspect of them makes life so much easier. I also love the compression fit and how breathable they are. The Explore Down Jacket is amazing because it really keeps you warm in cold temperatures, and can pack down so small, very quickly if you’re travelling or bike packing.
