Introducing Me & My Bike - A behind the scenes look into the people behind the brand and their bikes.

First up, meet Amoy. Pattern Cutter at Rapha and her 1970's Raleigh road bike.

Hi Amoy! So, tell us a bit about your role at Rapha??

My role at Rapha is in the Atelier team as a pattern cutter. This involved problem solving, working creatively with the design team to generate professional patterns for all products across the ranges for on and off bike.?What I love about working at Rapha is the team spirit. We work together here. Everyone, their experience and talent is relevant and appreciated. It’s difficult to find a place to work that is balanced with good people, where work is interesting, challenging and the company actually cares about your welfare. Rapha as an employer has a great reputation, people that have never worked here tell me how good it is and I can totally see it. Looking forward to what the future brings!?

So, what about your bike??

?My Raleigh 1970's road bike, my first and current road bike. I would normally have a mountain bike or BMX but I must say I have been converted to road bikes now and so do a bit of everything! I’m hoping to test out a gravel bike soon!

And how did you get into cycling?

?On my 7th birthday,? I got a blue and white BMX. I loved cycling so much that I've not been without a bicycle since. Why walk when you can ride!

?Can you tell us one of your favourite cycling memories??

??Nothing beats the memory of 7 of us kids on my sister's chopper bicycle riding on country dirt roads in Jamaica. 3 on the seat, 1 on the crossbar, 1 on the handlebar and 1 straddling each wheel, balancing with bare feet on the axle nuts.

?And finally, what is your favourite Rapha product and why??

?At the moment it has to be the Souplesse Insulated Jacket and Gilet (online it’s called the Pro Team Winter Jacket) - definitely one of the best winter buys. It’s my favourite as it’s ultra thin but extremely warm. I’m definitely? not one for the cold and always have extra clothes with me… now I don’t need to do that when I wear those two layers!?
