When I went to my first ever MDRT Annual Meeting in 2016, I was amazed at how many people came together in one venue to talk about insurance. It was an excitement beyond belief. People from India, China, Australia and other countries with jackets, shirts and other visible distinctions that identified them as a group was the norm; cheering, singing, taking pictures with one another; the enthusiasm was present.

I started out in the main hall, where Keynote Speakers were giving their talks about how to be a better insurance agent; storytelling, presentations or just plain speaking was the way that these people tried to connect with us and give us their best tips and tricks. After my first talks during the first day, I went to a special place that I ended up loving and spending most of my time; a place called "The Connexion Zone". This smaller scenary was part of MDRT but it was focused and shorter & smaller audience talks with guest speakers from all over the world. You could hear different languages being spoken from different speakers. I was blown away and said to myself: "This is my zone".

Unfortunately for some speakers, it's fairly easy to lose my attention so these talks were perfect for people like me. 15 minute talks with such a variety of topics that applied to insurance selling; it went from how to connect with your prospect, how to provide better service to how to make improve your brand as an insurance agent or how to get your clients to speak fondly of you so you can get more business. I still go everytime I go to MDRT to this place and always end up talking to the guest speaker afterwards. It gives you that opportunity. Don't get me wrong, the talks in the main hall are very very important but if you want to mix it up or change the scene, The Connexion Zone is the place to be.

On a final note, MDRT only accepts the top 2% in the WORLD!! that means, if you are there, you are among the top in every single country on this Earth. Take advantage of this great organization and sell it to your prospects and clients. You won't regret it.
