McKinley Elementary, a United Way community school, says farewell to their principal Dana Suppa (aka the ‘dad’ of the school), a dedicated supporter and passionate advocate of the Community School Model. As principal for 15 remarkable years, Dana has been a source of inspiration and unwavering support for McKinley students, families, and staff. His leadership and heartfelt commitment have left an undeniable mark on our community.?
Amy Grande, United Way community school director at McKinley elementary reflected on her relationship with Dana. "He always provides a sense of stability and comfort. He has made McKinley his second home and in turn has made me feel at home here too. We've had our fair share of hard, challenging, and downright sad times, but at the end of the day I've always felt this sense of everything being "okay" because Dana's here."
During his retirement party at McKinley, students and families came out to celebrate Dana's accomplishments throughout his time as principal. When asking students what they will miss most about Principal Suppa, they said “Everything, but we will miss his dad jokes the MOST.”?
We extend our deepest gratitude and warmest wishes to Dana as he embarks on a well-deserved retirement. Thank you, Dana, for your extraordinary service and lasting legacy at McKinley Elementary.
