Your pronouns: she/her

Title: Head of Support Engineering

What’s your 2-sentence autobiography?

I’m a NYC-based workaholic who loves to solve technical challenges for customers, while finding time to read, travel, and eat good food whenever I can! During my off time, you can catch me exploring the city with friends and family.

What is your background prior to working for Monte Carlo?:

Throughout high school, I had thought about going to medical school so I graduated college in Biology and Chemistry, but then pivoted to being an interior designer for Airbnb which is where I discovered my passion for working in tech! I went to a coding bootcamp, got a job at Segment as a Support Engineer, and have been working in that space ever since..

Why did you choose to work for Monte Carlo?:

I was looking for my next move, and had actually looked at Monte Carlo as I knew I wanted to move towards a more technical product, but didn’t see any available jobs (this was years ago). However, someone at Monte Carlo ended up reaching out to me about a week later (shout out @/Stephen Guerguy), and the timing was perfect; combined with the early stage and the opportunity to build something from the ground up sold me.

What do you appreciate most about working for Monte Carlo?:?

The ability to see and impact the entire customer journey. Support here helps pre and post Sales orgs, and so we are in a unique position to see the total customer experience and help at every stage, which teaches me a lot every day and allows me ample opportunity to influence their success!

??

What are you passionate about outside of working for Monte Carlo?:

I’m a voracious reader. I love a good book and learning new things; I especially enjoy reading about history and then traveling to those places to experience the culture first hand.

How did you get interested in your field of work?:

It was happenstance, really. I was working in the medical field during high school and college, and as I was starting to study for the MCATs, my sister who is a software engineer recommended I try my hand in tech. I moved to the Bay Area, got a job at Airbnb, and found it so incredibly refreshing to be surrounded by people who loved what they did every day and were excited to be there.

As I learned more about the options in tech and SaaS specifically, I discovered I really enjoyed infrastructure problems and talking about backend architecture while helping customers be the most successful on the product.

If you could describe yourself with one word, what would it be and why?:

Motivated. I am always doing something and putting my all into it. I’ve been told that I have a lot of energy I bring to meetings and have high standards for myself and my teammates.

One of our company values is “beat the odds”. What does “beat the odds” mean to you?

It means doing your best work quickly - maintaining quality while tackling difficult problems!

If you could pause your life for just one moment, what moment would that be and why?

I’m not sure I would. I have had lots of moments that I look back fondly on, but I am someone who is always looking forward. I don’t think I’d want to remain in one moment, no matter how “good” it is, as I think progress and change bring on new experiences and challenges.

How do you recharge??

I veg out on my couch and watch Netflix, or I walk in the park and listen to music, or I travel, or I try new foods (if I’m feeling really adventurous, I’ll try cooking them myself). Really anything that allows me to step away from work and focus on something that allows me to explore something new.

What’s the one takeaway you want people to know about you?

I love to ski. I’m a big city girl, but during winter, I will try and get away as often as possible to enjoy the snow. ??
