Beginning his professional journey as co-owner of Compton Ridge Campgrounds in Missouri, Sims later chaired the National Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds and served as director of state relations and program advocacy at OHI since 2011. His efforts significantly enhanced OHI’s presence in Washington, transforming advocacy efforts into comprehensive engagements on Capitol Hill. Acknowledging his profound impact, OHI will introduce the Jeff Sims Advocacy in Action Award in 2025 to honor individuals who exhibit outstanding dedication to industry advocacy. As Sims prepares to pass the baton, Julia Canady King will assume the role of government affairs manager, bringing her expertise and passion for camping to the forefront. Sims' legacy of wisdom and passion leaves an enduring mark on the industry and those who have worked alongside him.
